How we order what you see

1. No ranking takes place

Offers appear in the order our catalogue holds them. No score is computed, nothing is boosted, and the order does not change according to who is looking, where they came from, or what time it is.

The order is the same for every visitor. It is not personalised — we do not know your browsing history and do not use it, because we do not collect it.

2. Position cannot be bought

We sell no preferential placement, no sponsored positions and no paid advantage of any kind. That is not merely a promise: the data the list is built from has no field that could carry such a placement.

If Waygo ever introduces one, it will be labelled on the offer itself and described here before the first such offer appears.

3. Commission plays no part in the order

Waygo charges a commission on a completed booking and the rate can differ between services. It does not affect the order — the code that assembles the list never reads the commission rate at all.

Nor does the referral fee paid to the hotel that sent you.

4. A related provider gets no advantage

Some providers are connected to Waygo's owners. Because nothing is ranked, they are not favoured: they sit exactly where anyone else sits.

Manual intervention in the order is not possible in the application today. When it becomes possible it will require both owners to agree, and every intervention will be recorded: who, when, for whom, for how long and why.

5. Your filters narrow the list, they do not reorder it

Search, category, duration, area, price and saved items decide only which offers remain in the list. The order of the ones that remain is unchanged.

6. What removes an offer from the list

• It is not approved. A new service is a draft until we have been through it; until then nobody sees it and it cannot be booked by typing its address either.
• It is a bundle containing transport, accommodation or vehicle hire. We may not sell that combination without a tour operator's licence, so the system refuses to publish or book it.

Nothing else hides an offer. A low rating does not, and neither does a provider having sold nothing through us for a while.

7. When this changes

Waygo is small and the catalogue is still short; once it is long enough for order to matter, there will be some ranking criterion. On that day this page changes too, in the same edit to the code — the text is meant to match what the program actually does, and a test enforces it.
